Waterfall Hike

About 20 minutes south on the highway there is a wide arroyo with a sandy track for a couple of miles, which ends at the first waterfall. Since it had been raining, the track was pretty firm; but you wouldn't want to do it without a 4 wheel drive. I was glad we had a Jeep. You climb up the first falls about 25 ft and then hike a narrower arroyo to the second falls. You climb the second falls which is about 20 feet high, and there is a little pool and the third falls, also about 20 ft high. The climb up the third falls looked a little too technical for us, although we saw one person come down it barefoot. I never was much of a rock climber. Evidently on top of the third falls it really opens up and you can hike quite a ways on the desert. Linda took lots of cactus pictures on the way back down.
