I was really impressed with the farming. The Pescadero area is a true oasis. The Sierra de la Laguna is a steep range which catches the moist Pacific air and causes much more rainfall in this area then in the rest of Baja. There is a good aquifer and wells are abundant. Most of the fields were smaller then the ones pictured here. The biggest crop this time of year seemed to be basil, but it looked like you could grow anything here. You could easily grow all of your food with half an acre and a donkey. Supplement that with fishing and you'd be living good.
