In the Casita

It was a good thing that El Pozo Hondo had the tightest casitas because it rained a lot. We both got head colds while we were at the first run-down location, and then had another cold rainy day at El Pozo where we spent one entire day just reading books inside the casita. All of the casitas we stayed in, as well as most other houses and structures we saw, had palm frond roofs. The Washingtonian Palm has a fan shaped frond which makes an excellent shingle. They say these roofs will last twenty years.
