Once the rain stopped, it got really cold. We spent one day on a drive though the ranchero country. There is about a 20 mile loop from Pescadero out to the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna and then back to the highway to the south. Mostly open desert. There was one community called Horconcitos, which was practically abandoned.
